'Stay With Me' by Sam Smith featuring Mary J. Blige

Sam Smith just released his debut album In the Lonely Hour in the U.K. this past week, but it's the U.S. where he's really focusing his energy. After his spectacular debut on Saturday Night Live, his Naughty Boy collaboration 'La La La' is finally blowing up on radio here and he's trying even harder to be recognized with a new collaboration.

Gospel-driven 'Stay With Me', the second single off Smith's debut album, has just gotten a make-over. The queen of soul, Mary J. Blige, who recently teamed up with fellow Smith collaborators Disclosure for 'F For You', is now adding her own flair to Smith's tune.

The song remains relatively unchanged, but the addition of Mary's vocals add that extra oomph that pushes the song into major gospel territory. Her soulful vocals create an uplifting and effortless dynamic for an already great song. And perhaps this is the opportunity for Sam to get even more recognition here in the U.S. as Ms. Blige is a national treasure.

Sam Smith's debut album In the Lonely Hour is set to be released on June 17th and I'm so excited to be going to his concert in September!
