The last big epic collaboration of the world's most powerful pop stars happened back in 2001 with 'Lady Marmalade' which saw Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Mya and P!nk give the world a heart attack. No showstopper has graced the earth since, until now. Jessie J's 2013 album was a major flop but she's (somehow) pulled her resources together and got two major artists on her team.

The 'Break Free' EDM princess Ariana Grande and femcee supreme Nicki Minaj join Jessie J on this track after having teased their respective verses on Instagram. It's no wonder this horn heavy summer banger is causing stans to convulse everywhere as it's crafted by Max Martin, Savan Kotecha and Ilya. After the underwhelming breezy summer tune 'Chasing the Sun' today, 'Bang Bang' gives us what we want.

Jessie J kicks off the track with her signature raucous voice as her soulful jazzy tone lures us into a trap. Once we're in there's no getting out. Ari then comes in, Mariah-runs a plenty, giving us a brief lightness before Nicki comes storming in with a spitfire verse that makes up for the 'Pills N Potions' dud.

The song is a rapid fire assault on all cylinders, showing us that females really do rule the music scene. They're off with a bang, and there's no doubt in my mind one of the biggest smashes of the summer has just been unleashed on the world.

Jessie J, Ariana, and Nicki will perform 'Bang Bang' for the first time live at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 24th.
