'Snatch Game' by RuPaul's Drag Race

This week on RuPaul's Drag Race is the challenge everyone has been waiting for, but we'll get to that in a minute. First, hot off the heels of the Oscars, the girls have to turn Snuggies into hot couture in a "Who Wore It Best?" competition. Ru enlists Us Weekly's Ian Drew (who I love) to help judge the red carpet looks. The girls are split up into two groups based on the pattern of the Snuggie, and in the end Roxxxy, Detox and Alyssa each are crowned Best Dressed. I actually think Alaska and Jinkx were the best dressed in their respective categories, but my opinion doesn't count does it? After the mini-challenge, Ru delivers the news we've all been waiting for: the main challenge is SNATCH GAME!
As the girls begin preparing for what is arguably the greatest challenge on Drag Race, we get to see what characters each queen will be portraying. Right off the bat, Jinkx proclaims she'll be doing Little Edie. She basically gets blank stares from all the other girls. Quick history lesson: Edith Bouvier Beale was the cousin of Jackie Onassis Kennedy, and she became famous for living in a dilapidated mansion with her mother after their house was condemned by the state. The documentary Grey Gardens put them on the map, and spawned a Tony Award winning Broadway musical as well as a TV movie starring Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore. If you've never watched the documentary then you need to. It's an instant classic (and the full thing is on YouTube!).
Detox chooses Ke$ha which could be fantastic if done right. She totally has the look down that's for sure. Roxxxy chooses Tamar Braxton. She better be funny. Alaska goes bold and chooses to impersonate Lady Bunny. I can totally see Alaska hitting this one out of the park. Jade chooses Taylor Swift which I think is a bad choice because I don't think you can really make her that funny. Alyssa chooses Katy Perry which I don't understand because Katy doesn't have a personality. Coco goes the safe route and chooses Janet Jackson who she performs as all the time. Ivy chooses Marilyn Monroe. Really? That was one of the worst decisions she could have made. And finally we have the Latin beauty, Miss Lineysha. And she chooses Michelle Obama...*crickets chirping* Are you trying to go home? Let's see how this all plays out.

Category is...
It's time for another installation of Snatch Game, this time with celebrity contestants Downtown Julie Brown and Julie Brown. To say this episode of Snatch Game was a letdown is an understatement. I love this batch of queens, but this was easily the weakest Snatch Game in Drag Race herstory. Jinkx, Alaska and Roxxxy were the only good ones. Jinkx stole the show as Little Edie, constantly dominating the camera with her perfect impersonation. I was actually in awe as I watched Jinkx this week. She showed all the other queens how this is supposed to be done. Alaska was freaking funny, coming up with the hilarious answers that I could totally see Lady Bunny saying. I didn't know what to expect from Roxxxy, but she made Tamar Braxton a real character and it didn't matter that I didn't know who she was. Roxxxy is a genius. Everyone else was just blah, but it was Lineysha that was by far the worst. She decided to change her character to Celia Cruz, but that didn't change anything. It was almost like she didn't understand what was going on half the time. Disappointing.

Ivy Winters
This look was good, but not amazing. She took the fish challenge seriously, and turned it out. I love Ivy, but she's just not cut out for the competition any longer. She's beautiful and she can perform, but when it comes to the challenges she's either bad or just hides in the background. She should be in the Bottom Two this week.

Detox
As much as the judges hated Detox's jellyfish look, I loved it! I thought it was different than everything else on the runway, and she totally made it couture. Detox is my girl, but her Ke$ha was disappointing. I think she could have taken it even further. Although some people thought it was crude when she "peed" in the bottle, I thought that was exactly what she should have been doing from the beginning.

Jade Jolie
Jade once again has a completely different look than all the previous weeks. She's got an incredibly versatile style which is great. Her performance as Taylor Swift was mediocre. It was just blah, and I think Jade could have done much better.

Roxxxy Andrews
Roxxxy tops her looks each week, and she has done it once again. I live for this look. It's sexy and dangerous, with a bit of ass hanging out. Roxxxy constantly hits it out of the park, and I'm excited to see her make it to the end.

Coco Montrese
Coco went for Nicki Minaj's 'Super Bass' look, and she killed it. I love this look on her, and she totally sold it on the runway. Her impersonation of Janet in the Snatch Game was boring, though. She had the look and the voice down, but she wasn't funny at all.

Alyssa Edwards
I'm slowly becoming a huge Alyssa fan, and this week on Untucked she blew me away. The whole look is great on her, and one of my favorites of hers. She's fantastic once again. However, her Katy Perry impersonation was atrocious. The only semblance to Katy Perry she had was the look. And on the runway Ru actually told her to tweet Katy with an apology. Ouch.

Lineysha Sparkx
Once again Lineysha is all beauty and no substance. This runway look is sexy and she looks fierce in this black ensemble, but that's about it. Her performance in the Snatch Game was unbearable and she deserves to go home.

Alaska
Alaska turned out a mermaid look this week. I like it, but it wasn't all that great. I liked the hair and the soft look this week, but the fish prop was so unnecessary. Alaska was overall great this week.

Jinkx Monsoon
It's monsoon season on Drag Race no matter what anyone says. The runway look this week reminds me so much of the legendary Pandora Boxx. The look was very low key, and wasn't exciting but the critique she was given was annoying. You don't have to be glamour to be the winner. Jinkx is a superstar as she is, and I could care less about her serving glamour.
Jinkx was rightfully declared the winner of the challenge (did we really expect anything else?). She smashed this challenge, and blew away all the others. Finally a win for Jinkx! The Bottom Two was Lineysha and, shockingly, Detox. Yes, Detox didn't do her best, but Ivy was much worse and deserved to be in the bottom. But, we all know Ru loves to scare the girls to make them live up to their potential so it makes sense that he would put Detox in the bottom. We all knew Detox was gonna win, but as soon as Cher's song started playing it was obvious Detox was going to wipe the stage with Lineysha. I'm kind of glad Detox was in the bottom, though, because the world finally got to witness her signature and fantastic lip syncing style. Rightfully, Lineysha was sent home.
This week Untucked was much more entertaining than it has been in past weeks. Coco, Jade and Alyssa were the safe girls, and so they were all locked in the room together to hash things out. Jade let Alyssa have it, and we got some hilarious reactions out of Alyssa that made a million gifs. Almost the entire episode focused on those three which was totally worth it. It was just a bunch of cattiness that we've all come to love over the years. Next week on the Race we can all look forward to the music challenge! The girls will be doing their own rendition of the classic charity single 'We Are the World'.
