As promised, today Logo TV released their own music video for Cher's club hit 'Woman's World' featuring five of RuPaul's Drag Race's illustrious alumna. Cher, herself, actually commissioned this video which just goes to show how talented these entertainers truly are. Cher is easily the most popular source for inspiration when it comes to drag queens so it's no wonder that these five gals were chosen for the video. Willam Belli takes on the 'Half-Breed' era of Cher's career while looking absolutely sickening, Alyssa Edwards takes on my favorite incarnation of Cher - Mermaids, Shangela plays the iconic 'If I Could Turn Back Time' Cher, and Manila Luzon (as she claims) channels Chad Michaels. I wasn't expecting the video to be in black and white which is a shame because they all are wearing gorgeous costumes which deserve to be shown off. Also, it would have been awesome for them to get together and werk out some choreography or something, but otherwise the girls did their best Cher impersonations and created a rather enjoyable video. The more mainstream recognition that the Drag Race girls have been getting recently is rather extraordinary, and I really hope to see it continue in its upward trajectory. I mean, c'mon, we could all use a little more drag to brighten our days!
